Standardbred Transition Alliance Awards $100,000 in Grants
July 30, 2026 -- Laurelville, OH – The Standardbred Transition Alliance (STA) has completed its annual accreditation process with the issuance of $100,000 in STA grant awards going out to six organizations that have met, or exceeded, the core standards before successfully passing through a rigorous committee review process.
These STA accredited organizations are now eligible for subsequent grant awards throughout the remainder of the year, along with the ability to take part in the STA’s Placement Liaison Program which serves, in part, to help organizations responsibly source Standardbreds directly from owner surrender situations.
“The 2026 accreditation and grant awards affirm our commitment to responsible stewardship within Standardbred aftercare.” said STA President, Dr. Andy Roberts. “This year’s recipients have earned their place through demonstrated excellence, and STA is proud to invest in their continued success.”
The 2026 STA Accredited Aftercare Organizations are Future for Standardbreds (ME), Happy Trails Farm Animal Sanctuary (OH), Heart of Phoenix (WV), New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program (FL, KY, LA, NY, OH, PA), Purple Haze Standardbred Adoption Program (NY), and Sunshine Horses (NY). Additional details can be found here.
The 2027 Application for Accreditation is open until October 15, 2026.
